“Computing magazine is a well established information brand for senior IT professionals.  With consistently growing traffic to our mobile site, we were keen to engage more with these people and get an understanding of how they are interacting with the mobile platform.  In association with IBM, we came up with Smart Facts, a mobile site where users get facts about the effect of inaccurate data on businesses.  Users have the opportunity to find out more about these issues and enter their email address if they wish to receive an IBM white paper on the topic.  The mobile site also includes some poll questions to test the level of user engagement.

In order to achieve this we firstly needed a design for the mobile site and then some traffic drivers to encourage people to switch from PC to mobile to view the site.  With very little brief or direction, By the Scruff created a fantastic brand for Smart Facts and design for the site.  Both ourselves and IBM were immediately pleased.

Creating traffic drivers brought about a different set of challenges as we needed to encourage people to not simply view Smartfacts.mobi but they could only do so on their phone.  By the Scruff decided to create ads with phone number capture so users were prompted to enter their phone number and we’d send a SMS with a link to Smartfacts.mobi.  The ads look great and response so far has been very encouraging.

This powerful content management system was chosen because of the scale of the website and the features needed for it to run a multi language website. The company’s entire catalogue will eventually be added in up to 7 different languages.

Customers can search for products and view detailed information about the many accessories available through retailers. The website does not sell directly but provides users with product information and support on the latest products.

By the Scruff has fully customised the design and modified the Expression Engine back-end to allow staff at Adapt to manage the online product inventory. We’ve used JQuery to display promotions and product galleries which are completely managed through the CMS.

We built this simple flash calculator which uses the Bradford Factor calculation to advise HR managers on how to manage absenteeism in the workplace. Due to a high rate of absenteeism over the World Cup we themed the design around the World Cup 2010 South African tournament.

Visitors are directed to a landing page which explains a little more about how Croner Employment Assist can help a business manage these sorts of issues and invites users to register for a demonstration.

Today sees the launch of a new Barking Riverside website. This new site is a stand-in while the main offering is developed.

The new website will provide the latest information on planning proposals, onsite work, infrastructure and detailed information on how the scheme will benefit the local community. We hope the service will include video interviews, blogs and property sales links and will act as a channel from where the latest news about the development can be followed.

MW Packaging design and manufacture luxury packaging for some of the worlds best known brands such as Diageo, Gillette, Olay, Bacardi and Max factor. MW approached us to help improve the overall user experience, increase useful company and product information and help optimse the site for search engines.

Some elements remain from the previous version and a gallery theme runs throughout the creative but the site is now a mix of flash and HTML. We also introduced the ability for staff at MW to publish a blog which has yet to take off but still it is a much more flexible system that can grow and change with the company.

Our team are also help the MW with ongoing emarketing by creating and broadcasting newsletters and product announcement emails. Traffic to the website has increased since the relaunch and we continue to support MW with the maintenance and upkeep of the website.
